Origins and Brand Philosophy

Founded in 2025 by Biagio Castellani and Federica Paoli, CASPAL is an Italian brand rooted in the fusion of contemporary design and artisanal tradition, featuring an essential yet intensely tactile aesthetic. After their experience as founders and creative directors of Situér Milano, a brand specializing in metal furnishings, the two designers launched CASPAL with the aim of exploring new expressive potentials of metal through innovative shapes and refined craftsmanship.

Connection to the Territory

The brand operates between Milan, where it collaborates with various specialized workshops, and Valdera in Tuscany, the founders' homeland. This territory, rich in history, art, and artisanal knowledge, serves as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for CASPAL. Here, a slow, mindful production process takes place, deeply rooted in the local cultural and landscape context.

Craftsmanship Techniques and Materials

CASPAL creations are made of metal—primarily aluminum, steel, and precious metals such as brass and silver—using techniques ranging from casting to turning, from manual polishing to silver plating, alongside contemporary treatments. Experimentation with innovative finishes and the use of natural or noble metals make each piece unique, designed to last over time.

Willow Weaving with Silver Plated Finish

One of the brand’s distinctive features is the use of a unique and innovative artisanal technique that combines the manual weaving of natural willow—an ancient craft linked to the rural Tuscan tradition—with a silver plated finish that gives new light and dignity to the material. The result is an unprecedented balance between artisanal and refined, organic and metallic, memory and future.

A Fully Handmade Process

Each piece is hand-woven by master artisans and then finished through a plating process that transforms the surface, enhancing its textures and making it durable over time. This craftsmanship renders every object unique and unrepeatable, where the natural imperfections of the willow meet the timeless elegance of silver.
